Confused?

Why dont we ask God? Isn't He the God of all religions (and non-religions) we have created since the beginning of time? This is not only to a one particular religion in question.. not also limited to the similar "issue" at hand...

A belief is formed when someone accepts a statement from someone else e.g. he has confidence/trust/faith in that someone ... what if that someone also believed someone other..? and and in turn this someone believed another? and another..? and........

The truth, nothing but the truth? - dan sanadnya yang begitu...

Dear VERONICA,

I have for years felt that the bible was more allegorical than true.  Was the bible inspired by God, or were there other celestial forces at play with many of its miracles?

- Renee

Dear Renee,

The bible was written by very spiritually aware individuals.  The old testament also offers a history of the beginnings of the environment you call Earth.

Unfortunately over the centuries it has been rewritten many times.  Often leaders and popes of the religion would redesign the writing to fit into their own agendas.  Extreme editing has also altered some valuable information.

Read it with respect, however, know it's not in its original format.

Be Empty

SALAM RAMADHAN\

"Fasting"

There is an unseen sweetness
in the stomach's emptiness.

We are lutes.
When the soundbox is filled,
no music can come forth.

When the brain and the belly
are burning from fasting,
every moment a new song rises
out of the fire.

The mists clear,
and a new vitality makes you
spring up the steps before you.

Be empty and cry as a reed instrument.
Be empty and write secrets with a reed pen.

When satiated by food and drink,
an unsightly metal statue
is seated where your spirit should be.

When fasting, good habits gather like
helpful friends.

Fasting is Solomon's ring.
Don't give in to illusion
and lose your power.

But even when all will and control
have been lost,
they will return when you fast,
like soldiers appearing out of the ground,
or pennants flying in the breeze.

A table descends to your tents,
the Lord's table.
Anticipate seeing it when fasting,
this table spread with a different food,
far better than the broth of cabbages.

Version by Coleman Barks

"Better than Cabbage Soup"

What sweetness lies in an empty stomach!
Man is like a lute: no more, no less.
If the lute is full
it cannot sing a high or low note.

If your mind and stomach
burn with the fire of hunger
it will be like a heavenly song for your heart.
In each moment that fire rages
It will burn away a hundred veils
And carry you a thousand steps
toward your goal.

Be empty
and weep with the fullness of the reed flute.
Be empty
and discover the mysteries of the reed pen.

If your belly is full on the day you are called
pain will come instead of freedom,
worldly cares will come instead of paradise.
When you fast, good qualities will gather round you
like faithful friends and servants.

Don't break the fast
for it is Solomon's Seal.
Don't give the Seal to harmful spirits.
Don't destroy your kingdom with a full belly.

Even in your kingdom falls
and your armies abandon you,
keep the fast.

Soon they will return
with their banners high in the air.
I say, by the prayer of Jesus,
Heaven's Table will come to your fasting tent.

Fast and remember that the abundance
of Heaven's Table will soon be yours -
And I assure you,
the food on that Table
is better than cabbage soup!

What hidden sweetness is found in this empty stomach!
Man is like a lute, neither more nor less:
When the lute's stomach is full, it cannot
lament, whether high or low.
If your brain and stomach burn from fasting,
their fire will draw constant lamentation from your breast.
Through that fire you will burn a thousand
veils at every instant--you will ascend a thousand degrees on
the Way and in your aspiration.
Keep your stomach empty! Lament like a flute
and tell your need to God! Keep your stomach empty and
speak of the mysteries like a reed!
If you keep your stomach full, it will bring
Satan to you at the Resurrection instead of your intellect, an
idol instead of the Kaaba.
When you fast, good character traits gather
round you like servants, slaves, and retinue.
Continue your fasting, for it is Solomon's seal:
Give not the seal to the devil, disrupt not your kingdom.
And if your kingdom and army should flee from
you, your army will return, so raise the banner!
The Spread Table has come from heaven to
those who fast, for Jesus son of Mary has called it down with
his prayers*.
Await the Table of Generosity in your fast--the
Table of Generosity is better than cabbage stew!

Translation by William C. Chittick
"The Sufi Path of Love"
SUNY Press, Albany, 1983

* Chapter V of the Koran is named after the "spread table"referred to in these verses: "And when the Apostles said, 'OhJesus, son of Mary, is thy Lord able to send down on us a Spread Table out of heaven? ... Said Jesus son of Mary, 'OhGod, our Lord, send down upon us a Spread Table out of heaven, that shall be for us a festival ... And provide for us;Thou art the best of providers."' (V 112, 114)

What hidden sweetness there is in this emptiness of the belly!
Man is surely like a lute, no more and no less;
For if, for instance, the belly of the lute becomes full, no
lament high or low will arise from that full lute.
If your brain and belly are on fire through fasting, because
of the fire every moment a lament will arise from your breast.
Every moment you will burn a thousand veils by that fire; you
will mount a hundred steps with zeal and endeavor.
Become empty of belly, and weep entreatingly like the reed
pipe; become empty of belly, and tell secrets with the reed pen.
If your belly is full at the time of concourse, it will bring Satan
in place of your reason, an idol in place of the Kaaba.
When you keep the fast, good habits gather together before
you like slaves and servants and retinue.
Keep the fast, for that is Solomon's ring; give not the ring to
the div, destroy not your kingdom.
Even if your kingdom has gone from your head and your army
has fled, your army will rise up, pennants flying above them.
The table arrived from heaven to the tents of the fast, by the
intervention of the prayers of Jesus, son of Mary.
In the fast, be expectant of the table of bounty, for the table
of bounty is better than the broth of cabbages.

2012...

IT IS NEW YEAR !
LET'S HAVE A DREAM...
GO HERE !

i’ve come again
like a new year
to crash the gate
of this old prison

i’ve come again
to break the teeth and claws
of this man-eating
monster we call life

i’ve come again
to puncture the
glory of the cosmos
who mercilessly
destroys humans

i am the falcon
hunting down the birds
of black omen
before their flights

i gave my word
at the outset to
give my life
with no qualms

i pray to the Lord
to break my back
before i break my word

how do you dare to
let someone like me
intoxicated with love
enter your house

you must know better
if i enter
i’ll break all this and
destroy all that

if the sheriff arrives
i’ll throw the wine
in his face

if your gatekeeper
pulls my hand
i’ll break his arm

if the heavens don’t go round
to my heart’s desire
i’ll crush its wheels and
pull out its roots

you have set up
a colorful table
calling it life and
asked me to your feast
but punish me if
i enjoy myself

what tyranny is this

Salam Hijrah...

GO HERE.......
“Your calling my name is My reply.
Your longing for Me is My message to you.
All your attempts to reach Me
Are in reality My attempts to reach you.
Your fear and love are a noose to catch Me.
In the silence surrounding every call of “Allah”
Waits a thousand replies of
Here I am.

Aidil Adha 2011

The Night of Union

Ghazal 1092

This is the Night of  Union,
when the stars scatter their rice over us.
The sky is excited!

Venus cannot stop singing the little songs she's making up,
like a bird in the first warm Spring weather.

The North star can't quit looking over at Leo.
Pisces is stirring milky dust from the Ocean floor.

Jupiter rides his horse over to Saturn,
"Old Man, jump up behind me! The juice is coming back!
Think of something happy to shout as we go."

Mars washes his bloody sword, and puts it up, and begins building things.
The Aquarian water jar fills, and the Virgin pours it generously

The Pleiades and Libra and Aries
have no trembling in them anymore.

Scorpio walks out looking for a lover,
and so does Sagittarius!

This is not crooked walking, like the Crab.
This is the Holiday we've been waiting for.

It's finally time to sacrifice Taurus
and learn how the sky is a lens to look through.

Listen to What's Inside
anything I say.

Shams will appear at dawn,
and then even this night will change
from its Beloved Darkness
to a Day beyond any ordinary,
sweet daylight.

Version by Coleman Barks
from a translation by A.J. Arberry
"Like This"
Maypop, 1990

Tonight is a night of union for the stars and of scattering,
scattering, since a bride is coming from the skies,
 consisting of a full moon.

Venus cannot contain herself for charming melodies,
like the nightingale which becomes intoxicated with the rose in spring-time.

See how the polestar is ogling Leo;
behold what dust Pisces is stirring up from the deep!

Jupiter has galloped his steed against ancient Saturn, saying
"Take back your youth and go, bring good tidings!"

Mars' hand, which was full of blood from the handle of his sword,
has become as life-giving as the sun, the exalted in works.

Since Aquarius has come full of that water of life,
the dry cluster of Virgo is raining pearls from him.

The Pleiades (nut) full of goodness fears not Libra and being broken;
how should Aries flee away in fright from its mother?

When from the moon the arrow of a glance struck the heart of Sagittarius,
he took to night-faring in passion for her, like Scorpio.

On such a festival, go, sacrifice Taurus,
else you are crooked of gait in the mud like Cancer.

This sky is the astrolabe, and the reality is Love;
whatever we say of this, attend to the meaning.

Shamsi-Tabriz, on that dawn when you shine, the dark night
is transformed to bright day by your moonlike face.

Penutup & Pembuka....

(سورة الحديد   Al-Hadid, Surah 57, Ayat 3)
Dia Yang Pertama dan Yang Akhir, Yang Lahir dan Yang Batin; Dia mengetahui segala sesuatu.

(سورة الحديد   Al-Hadid, Chapter #57, Verse #3)
He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things.

This middle way belongs to the realm of the finite,
for that finite has a beginning and an end.
A beginning and end are necessary
to conceive of the middle point.

As the Infinite doesn't have limits,
how can you apply a mean to it?

Awal Muharram - Ma'al Hijrah

Here I am
All night, a man called “Allah”
Until his lips were bleeding.
Then the Devil said, “Hey! Mr Gullible!
How comes you’ve been calling all night
And never once heard Allah say, “Here, I am”?
You call out so earnestly and, in reply, what?
I’ll tell you what. Nothing!”

The man suddenly felt empty and abandoned.
Depressed, he threw himself on the ground
And fell into a deep sleep.
In a dream, he met Abraham, who asked,
Why are you regretting praising Allah?”

The man said, “ I called and called
But Allah never replied, “Here I am.”
Abraham explained, “Allah has said,
“Your calling my name is My reply.
Your longing for Me is My message to you.
All your attempts to reach Me
Are in reality My attempts to reach you.
Your fear and love are a noose to catch Me.
In the silence surrounding every call of “Allah”
Waits a thousand replies ofHere I am.”

Aidil Adha....

SELAMAT MENYAMBUT HARIRAYA KORBAN

BERKORBAN APA SAJA.....

Joseph has come,
the handsome one of this age,
a victory banner floating over Spring flowers.

Those of you whose work it is
to wake the dead, get up!
This is a work day.

The lion that hunts lions charges into the meadow.
Yesterday and the day before are gone.

The beautiful coin of now
slaps down in your hand.

The streets and buildings of this city
are all saying, The prince is coming!

Start the drumbeat. Everything we've said
about the Friend is true. The beauty of that
peacefulness makes the whole world restless.

Spread your love-robe out to catch
what sifts down from the ninth level.

You strange, exiled bird with clipped wings,
now you have four full-feathered pinions.

You heart closed up in a chest, open,
for the Friend is entering you.

You feet, it's time to dance!
Don't talk about the old man.

He's young again. And don't mention
the past. Do you understand?
The Beloved is here!

You mumble,
"But what excuse can I give the king?"
when the king is here making excuses to you!

You say, "How can I escape his hand?"
when that hand is trying to help you.

You saw a fire, and light came.
You saw blood, and wine
is being poured.

Don't run from your own tremendous good fortune.

Be silent and don't try
to add up what's been given.

An uncountable grace has come to you.

Salam Aidil Fitri

M Nasir
Salam Dunia

Suara tangis yang kau dengar
Memecah hari kudus ini
Adalah aku
Mengenang pemilikmu

Kita pohon kemenangan
Meroboh kota keakuan
Ini saatnya
Yang kunanti-nanti

Mereka yang dilanda derita
Redhalah harimu kan tiba
Cahaya kekasih yang benar

Menghapus segala api kemarahan

Salam dunia
Salam semua
Salam Hari Raya
Bersinar akhirnya
Salam dunia
Salam semua
Salam Hari Raya
Bersinar akhirnya

Inilah hari kita
Tiada lagi rasa ketakutan

Inilah hari kita oh...

THE GLITTER OF THIS FANTASY

Now comes the final merging,
Now comes everlasting beauty.
Now comes abundant grace,
Now comes boundless purity.

The infinite treasure is shining,
The mighty ocean is roaring,
The morning of grace has come -
Morning? - No!
This is the eternal Light of God!

Who occupies this beautiful form?
Who is the ruler and the prince?
Who is the wise man? -
Nothing but a veil.

The wine of love removes these veils.
Drink with your head and your eyes -
Both your eyes,
and both your heads!

Your head of clay is from the earth,
Your pure awareness is from heaven.
O how vast is that treasure
which lies beneath the clay!
Every head you see depends on it!

Behind every atom of this world
hides an infinite universe.

O Saaqi, free us from the facade of this world.
Bring wine - barrels full!
Our eyes see too straight -
straight past the truth!

The Light of Truth shines from Tabriz.
It is beyond the beyond
yet it is here,
shining through every particle of this world.
